Forest fires in Bulgaria

On November 21, 2011, forest fires were reported near the village of Treklyano, Kjustendil province (western Bulgaria) in a mountanious area close to the Serbian border. On November 22, 2011 the GMES SAFER mechanism was activated through the National Focal Point of Bulgaria. High resolution, new and archive, optical satellite imagery were ordered. The DLR/ZKI map shows the burnt area extent derived by the analysis of Rapideye data acquired on November 25, 2011.
